A comScore study found that, from December 2008 to December 2009, Smartphone ownership increased from 11% to 17%, while 3G phone ownership increased from 32% to 43%.

Enterprise 2.0 Goes Mainstream As Collaboration Tools Mature
Altus Inc., which Wednesday rolled out video search technology optimized for mobile devices, has gone from $1.5 million in revenue five years ago to just under $10 million now and hopes to double that in a year and half, said Chief Operating Officer Sebastian Grady. The profitable company, which is talking to venture and strategic investors, is ramping up its sales force with five to 10 new hires planned this year, Grady said. Altus sells its media aggregation technology to companies such as Cisco, Oracle and General Motors Corp.

Following a professional conference, most of us return loaded down with things like: a) yet another cheapo backpack, b) a pile of company brochures, c) a stack of new business cards, and d) schwaggy items, like T-shirts and light-up yo-yo's. Unless you've videoed all the events you attended, you'll have to rely on your notes and perhaps some PowerPoint or PDF docs in order to remember the important professional information you absorbed. Not any more, however. Now, for a growing number of conferences, attendees can simply go online and review the keynote or seminar they attended, to make sure they didn't miss anything -- or to simply to keep the presentation for reference.
